Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. A Level II Dental Assistant is strongly preferred, and HARP certification is required.

In this role, you will assist in both clinical and administrative aspects of the practice, playing a key part in delivering an exceptional patient experience and supporting the smooth operation of the clinic. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a patient-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Chairside Assisting:

  • Assist dentists during a variety of procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient comfort
  • Prepare and maintain treatment rooms and instruments according to infection control protocols
  • Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in compliance with HARP guidelines

Clinical Duties (Level II Scope):

  • Take impressions and assist with restorative procedures
  • Ensure all clinical records are accurate and up to date

Patient Care:

  • Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience
  • Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy

Sterilization & Infection Control:

  • Maintain strict sterilization and infection control standards
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety protocols

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with charting and maintaining patient records

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily operations

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Level II Dental Assistant certification preferred
  • HARP Certification: Required (must be able to legally take dental radiographs in Ontario)
  • Experience: Previous dental assisting experience preferred
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software is an asset
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organization: Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Patient Focus: Friendly, professional, and compassionate approach to patient care
  • Adaptability: Quick learner with a proactive mindset
